How to Use

  • Pregnant women and those trying to become pregnant should not take this medication.

Dosage & Overdose

Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water every day to prevent kidney stones from forming. Your doctor may tell you to take the entire dose at once, or divide it into 2 or 3 smaller doses throughout the day.


  • Taking this drug may cause a prolonged QT interval.
  • This medicine may cause drowsiness, dizziness, vision problems, or clumsiness or unsteadiness in some people.


  • You and your healthcare provider should decide if you will continue to take Depakote or Depakene while you are pregnant.
